A Vintage Theme

The beauty inherent to the female is obvious and should not be hidden or diminished. Presenting a sexual side to women in a romantic sort of way is a wonderfully, beautiful thing. Slips and petticoats were a common staple in a woman's wardrobe and there was always a mystery of intrigue when anyone saw a small amount of lace and nylon peek out from underneath a skirt or dress.

Back in the movies of the 40s, 50s, 60s, and even 70s, when nude scenes were taboo on the big screen, director's often used "slip" scenes. For those who grew up watching the movies or TV shows with this type of scene, a slip scene to this day may represent an even more sexier image than blatant nude scenes of today. A slip also said a woman was available in movies of old. A slip signified desire.

ABOVE: Recently, the slip had a part in the movie "Walk The Line"

If you've ever watched the trailer for Butterfield 8, you'll notice a great deal of time was given over to scenes of Elizabeth Taylor swanning around in her slip. And what a slip!! Molded to the body like a glove, it empasizes the smallness of the waist and the fullness of the hips and breasts without revealing more than a hint of cleavage.
